Please share a little about yourself as a person
I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma born and raised. I come from a single mother home where I learned the value of hard work and dedication! I attended KIPP Tulsa as an original founding student, shaping my future as a leader. I graduated from college with a degree in applied sciences and medical coding. Then I found the holistic lifestyle through a life changing event, when I became a mother in 2016. My life threatening experience with childbirth pushed me to learn about health. In 2018, I became volunteering in a community garden. Sparking my green thumb, things grew wild! I had a two bed garden built and learned to grow my own herbs, became certified in Herbalism, and moved to colorful Colorado Springs.
Please share a little about yourself as a professional.
I started my healthy and holistic business in 2019 opening Zenith Moon Co. My store, The Broom Circle, was founded in 2021 became the first black owned apothecary in the city within 2 years of my move. My impact and strength in community bipoc education and herbal resource access, which led me to HPOC in 2024. My company, Zenith Moon Co. LLC, is an herbal product company that specializes in alcohol free products and customizable remedies for individualized needs.
What are you doing in your profession to make the world a better place?
Upon opening the store in Colorado Springs, it became a hub for holistic care to people of color in the community and so many others seeking a safe place to call home. Her business not only has became a safe haven for many in the city but now as the first ever chapter president of the Colorado Springs Chapter of The Holistic Professionals of Color non profit she has now made it a mission to provide holistic education, training, and resources to the communities whom need it!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years, I see myself in a large factory and running my own corporation. I see the potential in what I have to offer to the world in the sense of herbal medicine and I see my company expanding to release amazing products and services that speak for themselves.
What accomplishments (personal and/or professional) are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the most recent experience of participating in a entrepreneurial game show called, “The Blox” where I went with the new owner of The Broom Circle and participated in a week long intensive business boot camp! I not only expanded my business mindset but I met so many amazing people and learned more than anyone can value in a lifetime.
Who has inspired you the most?
What has inspired me the most is my experience with motherhood. It all started with my daughter, she brought the need for my herbal business into play. I found the love for the world of herbs but she gave me the purpose in using it to heal! She was born with bilateral clubbed feet and later in life she was diagnosed with ADHD. I knew early in her life she was very special and when I sought options to help her I found my herbal remedies were the start to more than just helping her, it grew to a brand!
What is the most interesting book you have read within the last year?
The most interesting book I read last year was Atomic Habits by James Clear. It was a key to helping me understand patterns and how to break them.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie has to be the classic of the 80’s which I seem to be a fan of, The Breakfast Club.
