Bonterra Lakeside Apartments Luau
The Bonterra Lakeside Apartments hosted a luau for their residents at the clubhouse and pool of their south Colorado Springs complex. April Lillo, has been with Coughlin Property Management that owns the complex for over six years. She has been the Property Manager at Bonterra for the past two years. “This is the first event the apartments have had in over ten years. Everyone is loving it. We had a great turnout. The one thing I love about this company is that they are resident friendly. They are all about the residents here.
We want to keep our residents happy. That is the bottom line.
April, who all the residents adore by the way, went on to share that without the residents, you don’t have a property. Bonterra Lakeside Apartments were built in 1969, originally as private condos. “We have one of the largest floor plans in town. And they are very sturdy and solid because they were built a long time ago. They are not like a new build where everything falls apart. You really don’t hear your neighbors. I never hear my neighbors upstairs because there is concrete between the floors. It’s a great place. It’s close to Quail Lake. We’ve got the walkway that goes down there. We have a 24/7 gym, and we just put new equipment in the gym. The pool is always at 85 degrees. Our staff is amazing. It’s a great place! I love it!”
Elizabeth Ziegler, pictured below, is a Business Development & Travel Consultant at SERVEPRO of South Colorado Springs. Part of her job is creating community events for apartment complexes. “April has been wanting to do some kind of community event. She said, ‘We have the best residents, and I need to do something more for them.’ So, she has been trying to organize something for them. And I shared, ‘I actually organize events for clients, and I would love to help sponsor your event.’ So she had a great idea to do a luau.”
You can’t call yourself a community unless you build a community. And how do we build a community unless we bring everyone together? And that’s what we do, because you’ve got to be able to reach your neighbors. You’ve got to be able to feel secure in your place.
Liz went on to share: “We have so many transplants in the area. Let’s get some ice breakers. Let’s bring in people. Let’s make it where people can actually converse together. And that way, you feel more comfortable in your surroundings.”
You can find a few images from today’s event below, and there are more images, full-sized (and free) available here. Enjoy!
Oh, and on a historical note, few people would guess that Taylor Swift once lived in these apartments for 2 years. And that’s because she didn’t.
